Ginger Cookies

2 cups flour
3/4 t baking soda
1/4 t salt
2 t ground ginger
1/2 t ground cinnamon
1/8 t ground cloves
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar in the raw
1 egg
1/4 cup karo dark corn syrup
1/3 to 1/2 c sugar in the raw

1. Combine dry ingredients; set aside.
2. Beat butter & sugar at medium speed until well mixed. Beat in egg & corn syrup until smooth.
3. Stir in flour mixture.
4. Chill dough 1-2 hours
5. Shape dough into 1 inch balls & roll in sugar
6. Bake at 350* for 9-11 minutes
